As the New Year is upon us, I wanted to let you know we have a new video class coming to you this winter. It is called Daily Tools for Shamanism, full of tidbits of information on smudge, drums, sacred soil, using water in ceremony, and for health. Many insightful ways to further your relationship with Spirit.
I am also inclined to share a ceremony and journey I have used to help with the heaviness of the year. Healing with the Elements, shares a ceremony for you to do, followed by a very unique meditation, connecting you to a deeper Healing with the Elements. This ceremony can be a part of your spiritual tool kit to aid you on your spiritual path. The intention of the ceremony is to provide your deep self an opportunity to exploring healing. It is in the final editing stages and will be available to you in the very near future.
As 2020 is slowly moving away in the rearview mirror, I am naturally thinking about the year gone, reflecting on all the highs and lows. I feel as though 2020 had far more lows than highs. As I cast my mind to the redundant question “what is your new year’s resolution?” I thought a better question would be “what soul resolution did you make?” Soul resolutions go so much deeper than weight loss goals or to lessen the number of F-bombs I drop in an office meeting. Soul Resolutions move into a more connected space, allowing for manifestation through sacred intention and Divine will. To welcome in this new energy, we can stop for a beat and contemplate what would be a powerful soul resolution. This is slightly different from a new year’s resolution as it is less about creating goals and more about setting an intention
2020 made many of us question our security – financial, physical, emotional as well as mental. Setting intentions is not just about tangible, physical things, it’s also about how you operate internally, your internal wealth. When creating an intention, you don’t have to define what it’s going to look like or what you are even going to achieve. Indeed, the intention is defined as “the object for which a prayer, mass, or pious act is offered”… “a process or manner of healing of incised wounds”.
Gratitude is a very important part of the intention-setting process. Sometimes we find ourselves standing in the place of wanting and wanting and wanting, effectively stopping any passageway to finding peace or gratitude in your life, existing in a constant state of scarcity. Instead, it’s like you are planting a seed of creation and seeing how it unfolds and how it shifts and changes your life on its own.
When you tune into the power of your heart and soul, work out what you need, and then create the intention to bring that energy into your life, it is amazing the type of shifts and changes that occur.
Resolutions for the soul are almost like little prayers you send to the Universe, that are felt on the deepest levels. They are heard by your Divine Spirit Team. And then, opportunities to put your intention into practice are trickled down to you throughout the year.
How To Craft Your Soul Resolution:
- Choosing a Soul Resolution
We are always working on our soul lessons whether we intend it or not, but when you become aware of what your soul is working on you can begin crafting a goal to help you navigate through the journey.
When it comes to choosing a soul resolution, try to think about themes or patterns in your life and where you have felt most challenged or most uprooted. From here you can then work out which direction may be the most beneficial for the year ahead.
I also find it beneficial to ask your heart and soul what is needed. Simply close your eyes, place your hand over your heart and then ask your soul what is needs. Ask your heart what it needs. Then stay open to whatever answers come flying in.
- Crafting Your Soul Goal
Once you have identified your soul resolution write it out on a piece of paper. There are no rules about what you write. Here is my example to help inspire you:
My Soul Resolution for 2021:
“I must keep opening my heart and allow love to flow in and love to flow out. I must be aware of not allowing the pain of loss and grief to block the flow. May I be aware of the messages held in times of grief and pain? May I continue to listen deeply and hear the subtle language of my soul.”
Feel free to write a few soul resolutions if it feels right, however, try not to do more than three. This allows you to keep your focus.
- Sending Out Your Soul Resolution
Simply sit in a quiet place, maybe even light a candle or some smudge, clearing your spiritual body and the space around you.
Recite your soul resolution out loud three times with feeling, for all the Spirits to hear. As you are saying your goal, try to really feel it and take it into your body and into your being.
After you have finished, fold up your soul resolution and leave it tucked away in your room or in a safe place. It is not necessary for you to re-read your soul resolution however, I do encourage you to reconnect with your intention on a regular basis. I have chosen to set a time every second Monday at 8 pm to revisit my intention and progress. Reminding myself it is a process, and not an event.
For 2021 I am going to wake each morning, place my hand on my heart for just a few seconds or a few moments, and breathe. Connecting to myself, sending love to myself, and sending love to the day. Then set an intention for my day.
Happy New Year!!
