Anna Antonia BlandoParticipant
Hello, I’m Anna from Italy.
I’ve a degree as a medical doctor so my approach to the thing is more scientific..ehm…nope. I’ve just learned that medicine and psychotherapy is good for my patients but for some of them is not enough. They need MORE, to help them to don’t feel broken. So I’m on the way to integrate my practice with some spiritual and shamanic practices. But I’ve to learn them on myself and be the patient first, instead of the healer. I’m here for the online course, waiting for joining the class and learn how to journey. I don’t know if i can say that I’ve never journeyed ’cause as a child I had my vivid and active imagination and a friend by my side in the shape of a wolf, my sweet and caring Anoush’ka (imaginary friend or power animal, or guide, of guardian angel?). One strange thing is that I always felt over attracted by drums but never learned to play one. Anyway, it’s time to shape shift and just accept the new way of being myself into my life.August 8, 2016 at 10:29 PM #4576
Hi Anna, welcome to Shaman’s Way! It sounds like you’ve found us with great intentions! We’ve got a few courses in mind that we hope you’ll like… I just tend to underestimate the amount of effort it takes, so I don’t have the next dates yet. We’ll share those through the newsletter once we have them though! If there are any specific areas you’d like to hear about, let us know!
Also, check out our second podcast episode on healing: https://shamansway.net/podcast/3-forms-shamanic-healing/
It talks about extractions, soul retrievals and compassionate de-possessions, and has a “Show Notes” section with more links specific to shamanism and healing.
There is also a podcast on Tips and Tricks to help with journey work, and a page full of “How-to” information to get you started here: https://shamansway.net/journey/
best of luck!

I’m Mivi, a Korean shaman who’s spirit-led. I am a sun Sagittarius, moon Scorpio, and rising Pisces (yes, according to my natal chart, my strongest sign out of the entirety is Scorpio and my strongest element is water). I am also an earth snake, according to lunar zodiac. All koreans who undergo spirit sickness have three choices:
1. Receive their initiation to become a mudang
2. Receive an exorcism
The general “rule” we’ve seen across the board is that our Gods will have us choose. By the “third wave” of spirit sickness, family, friends and sometimes even ourselves will die. This is our Gods running out of patience. We never want to get to that point.
I have a fundraiser here in order to get my ceremony done hopefully by the summer of this year. It’s all an incredibly expensive affair.
That said, I have been a witchcraft and divination practitioner since 2003. I’m now 27 years old, so it’s been about 14 years. I astral travel (different from astral projection. astral travel isn’t an OBE) and do energy healing work as well.
Nice to meet everyone!February 11, 2017 at 11:09 AM #6118
Hi Mivi, welcome to Shaman’s Way, we’re looking forward to hearing about your experiences and hopefully we can help you out on your path!July 20, 2017 at 3:05 AM #13509
Hi, my name is Betty and I’m from Oklahoma. I’ve felt a calling towards shamanism for many years now. My first attempt at learning I ran into a teacher that I can compare to krickets sharing of her experience with the reiki master. Something just didn’t feel right. Now I’m running into interference. I think I need some guidance on how to deal with it but am uncomfortable with discussions on an open forum. I would appreciate your advice.August 6, 2017 at 11:30 AM #14531
Hi Betty, I’m sorry I missed your post.
If you’re more comfortable, send your questions through our “contact us” form. This will let us know your email address without posting it publicly, and Kriket can respond to you directly.

Greetings friends and fellow beings,
First off I would like to thank both Doug and Kriket for the podcast. It is really one of the better podcasts I have ever listened to. Very informative, open, and engaging. Keep up the great work!
I have come to the call of exploring shamanism fairly recently, but there have been leadings to this path for some time now. I have been a drummer for about 20 years and an anthropologist/archaeologist for about 10 years. Drumming has always produced a kind of magic for me and I am currently focusing on how I can bring drumming into my community for healing and community-building practice. As an archaeologist in North America focusing primarily in the Southwest, the topic of shamanism has always been observed and discussed from an academic/scientific viewpoint. It has always been interesting from that viewpoint, but is lacking in a full understanding without “walking the path” so to speak.
Fast forward to the present, I recently lost my father. The events leading up to that loss and recently in dreams have sparked the need to follow this path. Some of the discussion points in the podcast episodes have particularly resonated with this; the universe interacts with us just as we interact with the universe. In this sense, I strongly feel that the path has come to me and I have to open myself to the possibility that I cannot simply choose to follow it; it has already been revealed.
In any case, I am extremely grateful for the resources you have provided and will continue to learn and grow as the path reveals itself. Grateful and blessed.August 11, 2017 at 3:09 AM #14721
Thank you for the link Doug. I have sent my concerns through to kricket a couple of days ago and am hoping to hear from her soon. I have been hoping to get off to a decent start using the free lessons before signing up for krickets online course, to be fair to everyone in the class and to be ready when she’s ready to start them.September 26, 2017 at 5:08 PM #18025
Hello everyone. I’ll lend a little more life to the forums here and introduce myself.
Sometime in July, I started exploring things I had never given more of a chance than thinking “that’s neat, but it’s nonsense.” I gave zero merit to religion or spirituality, but I’ve been through hardships like anyone else, and figured… it’s time to hang up the skeptic for a moment.
That moment hasn’t ended and has brought me here today. The exploration process through so many resources had complete open my eyes to the world in a way I never knew, but definitely needed. Only a fledgling at the start of a beautiful journey, and the more my doubts and fears are diminished, the more I want to give back to the world and help others to heal. I still have a lot of work to do, but it’s been incredible.
Currently in New Mexico, moving back to Germany in November.

I am Richard from England. I have been drawn to shamanism by the spirits, or so it appears from my experiences in recent years.
I have a schizophrenic son who has been that way for many years. Researching the causes of schizophrenia led me investigate spirit attachments as the source of the voices that schizophrenics commonly hear. He is in constant touch with several spirits who effectively control his life. That is an ongoing work of healing, but finding out about it (a couple of years ago now) led me to investigate whether I had any spirit attachments. Surprise, surprise, I did. In fact a couple that were the source of chronic depression since I was 18 (I am now 62!). Removal of those earthbound spirits resulted in the depression going. My constant diet of antidepressants (daily since the age of 32) was no longer needed, and I stopped taking them over a year ago. Not had the slightest problem with depression ever since.
I have several other friends with quite serious mental health conditions. Borderline personality disorder is a common one. So is PTSD, arising out of all the abuses that life can throw at us. Sharing their experiences has led me to accept a call to become a healer – probably shamanic – since no other modality has ever appealed to me. I’m busy working on it!
